Indian Confluence (InCo) is a non-profit organization committed to showcasing the rich diversity of Indian culture, art, and music. Beyond cultural engagement, InCo actively works towards improving the quality of life in rural India through grassroots development initiatives.
Smart Village Initiative – Pondur, Andhra Pradesh
As part of its commitment to societal betterment, InCo has adopted the village of Pondur under the Smart Villages Initiative led by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Our focus lies in transforming the village through sustainable, impactful projects in three key areas:
- Knowledge Village
- Development of school infrastructure
- Establishment of a digital classroom
- Promotion of 100% literacy
- Green Village
- Tree plantation along ponds, streams, and roads
- Beautification through green cover and environmental conservation
- Clean Village
- Implementation of waste collection systems
- Awareness programs on hygiene and environmental responsibility
Key Initiatives & Achievements
Digital Empowerment
A digital classroom has been successfully set up in the local school, making quality education more accessible to rural students. This initiative aims to bridge the knowledge gap and foster digital literacy from a young age.
Ideal School 2017 Project
In 2017, InCo launched Project IdealSchool 2017 to address infrastructure needs identified by school authorities. Project goals included:
- Renovation of the digital classroom
- Installation of improved drinking water facilities
- Structural repairs (walls, ceilings, and classrooms)
- School electrification
Support Provided So Far:
- Digital Classroom: ₹35,000
- Cultural Space: ₹1,20,000
- Books: ₹20,000
We sincerely thank Anita Diamonds and Brussels Airlines for supporting our efforts through a fundraising raffle, contributing €600.
An additional €1800 was raised through various Indian Confluence programs and contributions from our founder.
Cultural Space Development
We are proud to announce the successful completion of the Cultural Space within the school premises. This project was made possible through collaborative efforts involving generous contributions from village residents and the unwavering dedication of the school principal, whose leadership was instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
