Tie & Dye is a method of dying fabric. You will learn the process of tie-dye which typically consists of folding, twisting, pleating, or crumpling fabric or a garment and binding with string or rubber bands, followed by application of dye(s). The manipulations of the fabric prior to application of dye are called resists, as they partially or completely prevent the applied dye from coloring the fabric. One such Methods related to tie-dye ‘bandhna’ , is very popular in India , giving rise to the Bandhani fabrics of Rajasthan. During this workshop one gets to develop their skills in techniques of block printing and Bhandhani.
Interesting Note: Bring your own white T-shirt/cotton dress to have a colurful result or go back home with your own colourful hand bag 🙂

Workshops Tie en Dye
Tie-dye (Engels) is een techniek waarmee men textiel van een patroon voorziet door, voor men de stof verft, stevige knopen in het materiaal te leggen of delen samen te binden. De patronen ontstaan omdat de verf zich op de geknoopte of samengebonden delen niet kan hechten. Door de kleding vanuit één punt te bundelen en vervolgens in verschillende verfbaden te dopen kunnen meerkleurige cirkelvormige patronen ontstaan.
Een dergelijke methode met betrekking tot tie-dye ‘bandhna’, is erg populair in
India, aanleiding voor de Bandhani-stoffen van Rajasthan.
Tijdens deze workshop kan men zijn vaardigheden ontwikkelen in technieken van Bhandhani.
Interessante opmerking: neem je eigen witte T-shirt of een katoenen jurk mee of ga terug naar huis met je eigen kleurrijke handtas 🙂

Atelier de Teinture par nouage
Tie & Dye est une méthode de teinture de tissu. Vous apprendrez le processus, ou tie-dye qui consiste généralement en pliage, torsion, plissage ou froisser le tissu ou le vêtement et le lier avec de la ficelle ou des bandes élastiques, suivies d’une application d’un ou de plusieurs colorants. Les manipulations du tissu avant l’application de colorant sont appelées ‘resists’, comme ils le font partiellement ou empêchez complètement le colorant appliqué de colorer le tissu. Une telle méthode liée à tie-dye ‘bandhna’ est très populaire L’Inde, donnant naissance aux tissus Bandhani du Rajasthan.
